Portrait of Bwala Amunabi in a deep red top

Meet Bwala Amunabi

  • Founder of Komoriko International Ministry
  • Author of A Face of Grace
  • Women's Empowerment Advocate
  • Mentor

Bwala founded Komoriko International Ministry to help women believe in God, believe in themselves, and see the value God has placed within them.

Where her story begins

Bwala was born in Nairobi, Kenya. Her early years were marked by poverty, illness, hardship, and rejection, seasons when life seemed uncertain and the future unclear. Those years taught her what it means to face adversity while still holding on to hope.

In 1993, she immigrated to the United States. Today she lives in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

The faith that carried her

Her journey is one of survival, transformation, and discovering purpose through faith in God. Through her relationship with Him, she came to understand that the painful chapters of our lives do not have to define us. Instead, they can become part of the very story God uses to encourage, strengthen, and restore others.

Her faith in Jesus Christ remains the center of everything she is.

A life of service

Bwala serves others as a social worker, mentor, and life coach. She believes the challenges she has overcome have given her a deeper understanding of the struggles many women face, particularly those who have been hurt, silenced, mistreated, or made to feel that they have no voice.

Why she founded the ministry

Her vision is rooted in a sincere desire to turn personal experience into an opportunity to serve. She founded Komoriko International Ministry, a nonprofit, out of her heart for women who have survived abuse and violence in Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Today she is building the ministry's next chapter: mentorship, education, faith and personal development, and community outreach.

Sharing her story

In her memoir, A Face of Grace: From Survival to Grace, Bwala tells how God's grace carried her from surviving to living with purpose. She hopes it reminds every reader that her past does not disqualify her from a meaningful future.
